Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Our Commitment to your safety

Our highest priority is the health, safety and security of our guests, and staff.

In response to the recent development of the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to follow the latest advice and recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the local authorities in England.

RIGOROUS SAFETY ENHANCEMENTS WE HAVE MADE

We have taken extensive steps to protect your health; we have:

  1. Introduced online check-in and online check-out to reduce touch points;
  2. Installed a protective screen at the front desk between guests and staff;
  3. Introduced take away only breakfast options;
  4. Installed a station with alcohol-based hand sanitizer for all guests to use;
  5. Installed a touchless thermometer system for all guests to use;
  6. Increased cleaning and disinfection frequency of all hotel areas, paying special attention to high-touch items;
  7. Improved air circulation processes to increase air quality;
  8. Implement 2 meter (6 feet) social distancing measures throughout the hotel;
  9. Disinfect all room keys prior to check-in; and
  10. Provide guests and staff with Personal Protective Equipment where needed.

The above list is not comprehensive and are just examples of some of the key measures we have taken and continue to take to show how serious we take your health and safety.

YOUR COOPERATION

Whilst we are closely monitoring the guidelines from the authorities and implementing our 10 step safety protocol, we would appreciate your cooperation.

In the event that you do not cooperate with government requirements or our enhanced hygiene measures or policies which are in place for the safety of other guests and staff, you may be asked to leave the premises. This includes if you are not in a sober state.

We ask you to always remain at least 2 meters (6 feet) from other guests to respect social distancing guidelines and to minimise your contact with surfaces in the common areas.

You must sanitise your hands upon entering the hotel using the alcohol gel provided by reception, or your own equivalent.

Declaration of health – if you have symptoms before arrival

If you make a reservation with us and you are showing any symptoms of COVID-19, you must email us at least 48 hours in advance of your arrival at reserve@melitahotel.com to notify us, so that we can be prepared for your arrival and mitigate the risk of further infection. Please provide your phone number since we may need to discuss your stay with you in order for you to comply with quarantine measures set by the authorities here in England.

Amenities

The availability of certain amenities will also be affected e.g the use of the lounge and/or breakfast room may be prohibited. Please enquire at reception about this upon arrival.

Check-in & Check-out procedure

The check-in procedure has also been revised such that ALL GUESTS must check-in and check-out online.

As part of this they must advise the hotel of their arrival time by emailing reserve@melitahotel.com.

This will help us to ensure that the appropriate measures are in place ready for your arrival.

Breakfast

In order to respect social distancing and enhanced hygiene measures, you can order a takeaway breakfast package 24 hours in advance, ready for you to pick up from reception on the morning of your breakfast.

Luggage

For hygiene purposes, we ask you to sanitise the handles of your luggage upon your arrival, and you will be required to carry your own luggage to rooms (regardless of the floor). We remind guests that we do not have a lift since our buildings are protected, and you may be required to walk up five flights of stairs.
